     Unscripted
Occassionally we find ourselves having Unscripted Experiences

An experience the cultural story cannot explain : Most of the time our
brains filter out and ignore information that does not fit with the story.
Sometimes, an experience is very central to a person’s life and demands to be
explained.  This prompts a person to try and create a new story.  They hunt
through all the stories they know, often seeking out new stories for inspiration.
They then combine some of the old stories together in new ways so that they
create a new story that can explain the experience. This process takes a lot of
time and energy.

An experience for which we have no script:  Occassionally we find
ourselves in situations where we have no idea how to act or what to do.
Usually, our brains reach for a script that is closest to this situation and we just
play out that script.  Overtime, we develop our own new scripts for how to act in
these situations. It usually involves borrowing parts of scripts we have seen in
other contexts and combining them in new ways that help us navigate this
situation.

The bible says homosexuality is
wrong but here was this wonderful
person. It took some time to find a
way of understanding it all.
I didn't want to be like my parents. I wanted to
give my child a better experience. But I had
no idea what to do. It took a long time to work
out another way of doing it.
