Gender - Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people's diverse experiences of gender

Same-sex attracted people have a wide range of experiences of gender. This
section explores whether our theory can explain the huge variety in GLBTQ self
expression.

Our hypothesis is that same-sex attracted people are spread right across the
spectrum of earthy and sensory traits.

Unspotable
Some people fit the traditional archetypes of men and
women. Their experience of gender fits social norms,
they just happen to be attracted to members of their
own sex. (More next month)

Coming Out Queens
Some people experience fluidity around their
experience of gender. In the days before they came
out to themselves, they had few problems fitting in with
social norms about men and women. But when they
come out their sense of self changes – sometimes
radically. They start to see ‘gayness’ in themselves.
